Paulist Scholars Chamber
Choir. James Smith, guitar. Luke McEndarfer, conductor.
Federico Garcia Lorca's haunting collection of

Baroque-style poems could not have been put to a better setting than
that of Castelnuovo-Tedesco's Romancero Gitano—a thrilling
work that tells of the lives of the Spanish gypsies, scored for
classical guitar and chorus. Hear the fiery passion of
internationally renowned guitarist James Smith along with the
trademark purity of the Paulist Scholars, as they sing this
magnificent piece, paired with another gem of the choral repertoire:
Morten Lauridsen's Madrigali, hailed by the Los Angeles Times
as "stunningly crafted." As if the concert could not get any more
exciting, we will close with the world premier performance of the
guitar version of Morten Lauridsen's choral hit, Dirait-on. Simply
too hot to miss!
